Study: Safety coaches improved PPE use during pandemic

Utilizing safety coaches improved health care workers’ use of personal protective equipment during the pandemic, a study found. Published last week in the American Journal of Infection Control, the qualitative study found safety coaches were well received by health care workers. Alberta Health Services, a Canadian-based provincial health authority, introduced the voluntary program to provide real-time support and mentorship to health care workers when selecting and using PPE.
