Video showcases Minneapolis health equity movement

Rebuilding a New Minneapolis: From Tragedy to Transformation, a two-part video, describes how George Floyd’s murder on May 25, 2020, transformed diversity, equity and inclusion work in Minneapolis and its surrounding communities. Produced by the American Hospital Association, Part 1 features a conversation with hospital executives and senior health equity leaders about what their organizations did in the aftermath of Floyd’s murder and how they helped lead efforts to rebuild their communities. Part 2 features a conversation with health equity and diversity officers and their Minneapolis-based community partners. They discuss their organizations’ work to improve health outcomes and the importance of having a collaborative approach to advance and sustain health equity in their communities.
