WellSpan Health tackles workforce shortages

WellSpan Health employs a “multi-pronged” strategy to combat workforce shortages, according to President and CEO Roxanna Gapstur, PhD, RN. Serving central Pennsylvania and northern Maryland, the health system strives to be a preferred employer, as measured by lists of best places to work. WellSpan has streamlined its hiring processes and offers a “value proposition that employees want.” It has partnered with more than 20 high schools, colleges and universities to financially support health science programs and provide clinical preceptors and faculty.
