FEMA lifts pause on disaster relief funding for hospital and other projects

The Federal Emergency Management Agency resumed processing disaster relief funding for over 2,400 projects, including vital funding for hospitals, thanks to $16 billion provided to the agency in the continuing resolution funding the government through Nov. 17.
“This provides vital funding for schools and hospitals across the nation, as well as critical infrastructure projects that will mitigate damage from future disasters,” FEMA said. “Delayed projects will be processed as quickly as possible in the order they were paused. FEMA estimates that all delayed projects will be funded within the next several weeks.”
FEMA paused funding for the projects Aug. 28 because immediate funding requirements threatened to exceed available resources.
