Survey: American majority trust NIH, CDC

Most Americans still trust information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institutes of Health, an Axios and Ipsos survey found. Fifty-seven percent say they have “a fair amount” or “great deal of trust” in information from the NIH; 40% do not. Sixty-two percent of respondents trust findings from the CDC, a decrease of 26 percentage points from before the pandemic’s start. Thirty-six percent of respondents do not trust the CDC’s information. Eighty-five percent of respondents said they trust health information that their doctors provide; 13% do not. The survey was conducted from Feb. 28 to March 3 and 1,066 adults responded. (The Hill article, 3/11/25)
