NQF issues guidance on measure design

In a recently released report, the National Quality Forum (NQF) tackles the challenge of using multiple sets of measures in tandem to drive improvements in health outcomes and high-value care. Using existing standards for developing and selecting individual measures, an NQF panel representing patients, purchasers, public and private payers, clinicians, provider groups, measure developers and implementers, statisticians and health services researchers met to establish a method for assessing how measures can best work together. NQF intends to field test the approaches with developers and stakeholders. (NQF news release, 8/5/20)
