AHA Spotlights Minority Mental Health

As part of its efforts to aid hospitals and health systems in reaching out to minorities needing mental health support and connecting them with professionals who can best meet their needs, the American Hospital Association (AHA) gathered a variety of resources on its website. These include blog posts and podcasts with experts in reaching diverse communities, a legislative update, stories of members in action and links to organizations doing related work. The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) reports racial and ethnic minority groups in the U.S. are less likely to have access to mental health services, less likely to use community mental health services, more likely to use emergency departments and more likely to receive lower-quality care.
