CDC ‘Hear Her’ campaign releases resources to support maternity patients

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) “Hear Her” campaign created a webpage with clinical resources and media materials to help health professionals communicate with pregnant and postpartum patients about warning signs demanding immediate medical attention and other concerns. The CDC resources also aim to help hospitals and health systems create environments where women are encouraged to speak up and become respected members of their care team. In a 2020 blog post, Priya Bathija, vice president of strategic initiatives at the American Hospital Association, discussed how listening to pregnant and postpartum women and acting quickly can save lives. The AHA’s Better Health for Mothers and Babies webpage has additional resources. (CDC news release, 2/1/22)
