House bill would study, enhance access to telehealth

Bipartisan legislation introduced in February 2023 would require the government and its independent committees to study expanded telehealth use during the COVID-19 pandemic and recommend potential enhancements to telehealth access and quality. Rep. Troy Balderson, R-Ohio, with Reps. Susie Lee, D-Nev., Ashley Hinson, R-Iowa, and Joe Neguse, D-Colo., introduced the Knowing and Efficiency and Efficacy of Permanent (KEEP) Telehealth Options Act (H.R. 1110). The bill would stipulate the Department of Health and Human Services, Medicare Payment Advisory Commission, and Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program Payment and Access Commission study expanded telehealth use. The American Hospital Association supports the bill. (AHA News article, 2/23/23)
