AHA urges smarter AI regulation

The American Hospital Association responded to the Office of Science and Technology Policy request for information on artificial intelligence regulatory reform. The AHA emphasized the need to reduce regulatory burdens hindering innovation and increasing costs, while ensuring patient safety and data privacy. The AHA provided recommendations in four areas. It called for synchronizing AI policies with existing frameworks to avoid redundancy; removing regulatory barriers; ensuring safe and effective AI use; and addressing organizational and infrastructural factors.
