Delphi Study Proposes Research Agenda for Nursing Leadership Science

Nurse health and well-being, workplace safety, and developing a nursing workforce to meet current and future needs topped the list of research priorities for nursing administration and leadership science, proposed in the September issue of the Journal of Nursing Administration. The AONL Foundation collaborated with the Association for Leadership Science in Nursing on the Delphi study leading to the creation of the research agenda. Other priorities include studying practice environments that are healthy for direct care nurses and for nurse leaders, quantifying nursing's value, and nurse leader development and essential competencies. The authors hope researchers and funders will use these priorities to guide future studies.
