Preconference sessions are full or half-day learning sessions that take place on Monday, May 1 and cost an additional fee. Advance registration is required to attend a preconference session. All preconference sessions award contact hours. Preconference offerings are only available to in-person attendees.
Preconference sessions are available as an add-on during registration.
Those that wish to attend only a preconference session and not the main conference may do so on the regular registration site.

CNML Certification Review Course | 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
The Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML®) exam is built on the four practice areas of financial management; human resource management; performance improvement; and strategic management and technology.
The CNML Essentials Review Course assists participants in preparing for the CNML certification exam through a review of the four practice areas and practical application of the skills through group discussion. This program will review test-taking skills to build your confidence for the CNML certification exam.
Registration for this course includes access to the online practice exam.

CENP Certification Review Course | 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
The Certified in Executive Nursing Practice (CENP®) Essentials Review Course assists participants in preparing for the CENP exam through a review of the AONL Nurse Executive Competencies® and practical application of the competencies. This bundled option includes access to the practice exam.
The competencies include Communication and Relationship Building, Knowledge of the Health Care Environment, Leadership, Professionalism and Business Skills.
Through small group work, you will discuss with your peer's high-order thinking as they relate to your professional practice. This is intended to be an opportunity to integrate concepts with experience, honing your critical thinking abilities in preparation for the exam.

NurseHack4Health Innovation Sprint | 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. — FULL
Rooted in design thinking, this four-hour co-design workshop aims to provide nurse leaders with the knowledge and problem-solving skills to implement and foster pragmatic innovation within their health systems.
The session will focus on the value of an innovative culture, applying systems and future thinking principles, applying techniques to envision creative solutions, and identifying strategies to address organizational transformation.
We will apply this innovation framework to solve topics around:
- Prioritizing Mental Well-being of Nurse Leaders
- Reimagining Nurse Manager Responsibilities
- Attracting, Onboarding & Developing Nurses to Thrive
- Addressing Bullying & Violence
- Future of Innovative Care Delivery Models

Join HFMA’s Chief Partnership Executive, Todd Nelson, and Sutter Health’s Chief Nurse Officer, Anna Kiger, to discuss the current state of hospital finance across the nation. Engage in a dialogue around the challenges and the shared responsibilities of the nurse executive and CFO while identifying best practices.
